Timika, December 14, 2023 Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Papua Province, Rev. Klemens Taran, was present as the keynote speaker at the national ecclesiastical choir party (Pesparawi) Development Institute (Lppn) seminar held in Mimika regency on December 14, 2023. Also accompanying Kakanwil was the head of Christian affairs of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Papua Province, Rev. Tony Denny Sahertian, who also serves as General Secretary of LPPD Papua Province. This seminar is part of an effort to understand and explore the regulation of the Minister of Religion (PMA) No. 19 of 2005 on the establishment of the Institute for the Development of the Ecclesiastical Choir Party (Pesparawi) National (Lppn). Rev. Klemens Taran provides in-depth material related to the PMA, focusing on the role and function of the LPPN in developing ecclesiastical leaders in Papua. This seminar lasted for two days, starting on December 13, 2023, when the Regent of Mimika, Dr. Eltinus Omaleng, SE, MH, inaugurated the New Mimika regency LPPD governing body. The newly appointed LPPD manager will serve from 2023 to 2028.

The inauguration became an important moment in the development of ecclesiastical Pesparawi at the regional level. On that occasion, Rev. Klemens Taran appreciates the commitment of the Regent of Mimika and all parties involved in the development of ecclesiastical parishes in Mimika regency. He also stressed the importance of synergy between the local government, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and churches in Papua in supporting the development of quality ecclesiastical programs that have a positive impact on society. The Mimika LPPD Seminar is expected to increase understanding and awareness of the important role of LPPN in developing ecclesiastical parishes throughout Papua. With good cooperation between all relevant parties, Pesparawi Ecclesiastical in Papua is expected to continue to grow and provide greater benefits for the people and churches in the region.
