FOUNDATION OF PAPUA WORKSHOP, BUILDING HOPE THROUGH TECHNOLOGY
Papua, a region often excused due to its limited infrastructure and access to technology, now brings new hope. The Foundation of Papua Workshop, founded by Reinhart Ramandei and Merlin Rumbarar, emerges as a response to concerns about the lack of technological knowledge in the area.
Removing Barriers, Opening Opportunities
Since 2006, Reinhart Ramandei has been teaching computer skills to teenagers at the Evangelical Christian Church of Papua. However, with the end of the Youth Camp activities in 2017, Reinhart and Merlin were determined to extend this training throughout Papua. The first training was held in Sauri Village, Oridek District, East Biak, with over 100 participants.
Small Steps with Big Impact
The ability to operate a computer may seem simple, but this skill can transform lives. Imagine a child from a village who has the opportunity to learn computer skills; when they continue their studies in a big city, they will not feel inferior. They have the same tools as city children, ready to compete and confident.
Aligning Activities with the Demands of the Times
The Foundation of Papua Workshop always adjusts its programs to meet contemporary demands while instilling religious values. As a result, each individual involved benefits from greater motivation and achievement.
Committed to Educating the Nation
The Foundation not only supports government programs to educate the nation but also strengthens the service of the Evangelical Christian Church in Papua. By enhancing the Church's human resource capacity, it is hoped that the quality of life for the people of Papua will improve.
Officially Established with High Dedication
In 2021, the Foundation of Papua Workshop was officially established with Deed No.: 28 dated July 26, 2021, and SK MenHukHam AHU-0023619.AH.01.12. Year 2021 dated July 27, 2021. To date, the foundation has provided free computer training to 18,566 people regardless of ethnicity, religion, or background.
Ongoing Mission
All training is provided free of charge, with operational costs coming from the founders' personal funds and concerned donors. With high enthusiasm and dedication, the Foundation of Papua Workshop continues to build hope through technology, ensuring every child in Papua has an equal opportunity for a brighter future.
