STRATEGIC STEP: TRANSFORMING THE QUALITY OF CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS UNIVERSITIES IN INDONESIA

Bogor (DBK): steps towards the institutional transformation of Christian religious universities continue with a burning passion. Observing this, the Directorate General of Christian Community Guidance (Bimas Kristen) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs organized an activity entitled "Coordination with Ban-PT and LAMDI assessors and the preparation of basic and secondary education curriculum guidelines." This event is scheduled to take place in Bogor from March 6 to 7, 2024. Officially opened by Jeane Marie Tulung, Director General of Christian Guidance, the event was attended by 50 participants from various Christian religious universities throughout Indonesia. The institutional transformation of Christian religious universities is one of the main focuses of the integrity pact between the Director General of Christian Guidance and the Minister of Religious Affairs. "These steps include the transformation of private Christian colleges into state Christian colleges, state Christian colleges into institutes, and state Christian institutes into state Christian universities," explained the Director General of Tulung. However, in the transformation process, there are challenges that need to be overcome, especially those related to quality assessment. The Director General of Tulung said that one of the obstacles faced by universities and study programs is the difficulty in obtaining superior or even very superior assessments. "We face difficulties in obtaining superior or very superior assessments from assessors who assess," he said. In this context, the Director General of Tulung asked for cooperation and assistance from universities to improve their quality. "We need the help of assessors in providing accurate and adequate assessments for our universities," he added. Director General of Bimas Kristen concluded, "I am sure that this meeting will be an important momentum for all parties, including assessors of study programs and institutions, to jointly improve the accreditation of our study programs and higher education institutions." With a strong spirit of collaboration and commitment, steps towards superior quality in Christian religious universities in Indonesia are increasingly wide open.
