SCIENTIFIC WRITING TRAINING: A STRATEGIC STEP TO ENHANCE THE SKILLS OF CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTORS IN MANADO

Manado, (DBK)—A strategic step to enhance the skills of Christian religious instructors in effectively conveying religious knowledge through writing is the scientific writing training. Jeane Marie Tulung, the Director General of Christian Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, conveyed this on Thursday, May 30, 2024, while closing the Scientific Writing Training for Christian Religious Instructors in Manado.

The Director General stated that one of the priority programs of the Directorate General of Christian Community Guidance is scientific writing training to the 70 participants who attended in person and around 200 participants who joined online.

"This is a strategic step to improve the ability to effectively convey religious knowledge through writing, also assisting instructors in the compilation of credit points," stated the Director General.

The Director General also appreciated the positive outcomes of this activity, including the publication of several scientific articles produced by the training participants. These articles have been published in one of the Religious Instructor Journals, "Merenda."

"This is a tangible contribution of Christian religious instructors in the academic world," she noted.

After this training, the Director General hopes that writing activities will be conducted regularly to continually enhance the skills of Christian religious instructors and advance the knowledge of Christian theology in Indonesia.

Additionally, the Director General urged Christian Religious Instructors to remain innovative in the increasingly advanced digital technology era.

"Besides providing guidance to their target audiences, contributing to research and writing scientific works published through journals and online media can be beneficial to the broader community," she concluded.
