WHERE WILLTHE ANTICHRIST COME FROM ?
The Bible describes an evil man who will take over the entire world right before Jesus' return — the Antichrist. However, what many don't know is that the Bible also describes the location from which the Antichrist will come. But not everyone agrees on which location these biblical descriptions point to. I am about 99% sure that I know where the Antichrist will rise from, because when I saw what was happening in that part of the world today and compared it with what the Bible says, I couldn’t believe my eyes. But before we reveal where I think the Antichrist will come from, let’s look at the four possible candidates, starting with the Islamic world in the Middle East. Not only is Islam one of the largest religions in the world, and has historically opposed Christianity, but according to Islamic theology, they too are waiting for someone to come and rule the world — a Muslim savior they call Al-Mahdi. Some Muslim traditions even say that he will rule for 7 years and make Islam supreme throughout the world. And guess how long the Bible says the Antichrist will rule? Seven years. But there’s something else the Bible says about the Antichrist that has a very interesting connection to Islam. The book of Revelation talks about one specific city that will be the economic center of the world during the Antichrist's reign, the city of Babylon. And guess where Babylon is located on a map today?

In the modern country of Iraq, with a population that is over 95% Muslim. This is also where the Great Tower of Babel once stood thousands of years ago. The exact location where the Bible says all the nations of the earth came together to unite against God. This is probably why God speaks about Babylon as the place where the world will once again unite against God in the last days before Jesus returns to judge the earth.
Candidate number two, Israel. Something that a lot of people forget when reading the Bible is that all of the prophecies in the Bible came from Jewish prophets. And when Jesus came to Earth, he came to Israel as a Jewish Messiah. With this in mind, pay close attention to what Jesus said to the Jewish leaders here. “I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, him you will receive.” Doesn’t it sound like He’s saying that the Jews will one day receive a false savior? In fact, the title "Antichrist" itself can actually be translated as "false Christ" or "false messiah." But that's not even the crazy part. In the book of Daniel chapter 9 and 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, we learn that the Antichrist is actually going to broker a peace treaty that will bring peace to Israel for 7 years. But after 3 and a half years, he will break that treaty, enter the holiest place of the Jewish temple, and declare himself to be God. What’s interesting is that there is no Jewish temple in Jerusalem at the moment. Currently, Muslims control the place where the Jewish temple used to be before the Romans destroyed it almost 2,000 years ago. And the Jews won’t rebuild their temple anywhere else because this is the hill where God chose the original temple to be built. This is why many people view the Antichrist as a Jewish man who will rebuild the Jewish temple, bring peace to Jerusalem, and be accepted by the Jewish people as their savior.
Candidate number three, the United States of America. Throughout the book of Revelation, the kingdom of the Antichrist is often referred to as Babylon. If you remember, this is why some people believe the Antichrist will come out of Iraq, because this is where Babylon is literally located. But there’s an interesting passage in Revelation 17 that may indicate that the name "Babylon" might be referring to something else entirely. In it, the Apostle John sees a vision of a woman riding a scarlet beast that has seven heads and ten horns. The woman was clothed with purple and scarlet and had all kinds of jewelry made of gold and precious stones. But here’s the part that’s really strange. The Bible says that on her forehead was written these words: "Mystery Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots, and the abominations of the earth." John was then told that the seven-headed beast in his vision was a symbol of the Antichrist kingdom in the end times and the woman is a symbol of the city that will control the entire kingdom. And what is the name of that city? Mystery Babylon. Because Babylon is called Mystery Babylon here, many Bible scholars believe that this is not referring to the literal city of Babylon, but rather to a city that has the spirit of Babylon. And many of these Bible scholars believe that if Babylon is symbolic here, then it’s also symbolic in other places in the book of Revelation, like in the other passage we mentioned earlier about Babylon being the center of the global economy. If that’s the case, then we need to ask the question, what nation can you think of that exists today that is a global economic superpower that could have the power to control the entire world? Many would argue that the United States fits this description pretty well. America is unbelievably wealthy, a world superpower, and is becoming more and more anti-God every year. If Mystery Babylon represents a godless city that seduces the world away from Christ, then some would argue maybe it’s Washington DC.
Now, before I tell you where I believe the Antichrist will come from, we still have one more location to talk about. But before we get to that, I want to tell you about the sponsor of today’s video, Ground News. Ground News is an app and website that basically takes thousands of news sources covering the same news story and quickly labels each source’s political leaning, left, center, right, which saves me a ton of time and confusion.
