PRESIDENT JOKOWI INVITES EVERYONE TO MAINTAIN THE COUNTRY'S DIVERSITY DURING THE NATIONAL CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION.

2023 DBK, East Java - Along with a number of advanced Indonesian cabinet ministers, President Joko Widodo also attended the 2023 national Christmas celebration. President Jokowi reminded the people to keep bringing Christmas peace in his speech, saying, "Thank God we can enjoy this Christmas atmosphere with peace, brotherhood, and compassion."

President Joko Widodo said, "We must continue to set an example to the world that religion is an inevitable law of nature and that differences in religion and views will be increasingly natural in modern life today."

He then stated that the choice to live in harmony and full of compassion is a good choice that God taught us, which we must strive for and grow in the lives of society, nation, and state. He said that Indonesia was lucky because it was able to show tolerance in the midst of diversity and pluralism. With Pancasila, Indonesia can maintain unity in the midst of diversity, Jokowi said.

"This spirit we must cultivate. The spirit of being moderate in religion and putting national interests as part of our faith." On this occasion, Jokowi also appealed to the public to remain tolerant and united ahead of the legislative and presidential elections.

Jokowi reminded us that differences in political choices are something that is normal in a democracy.

However, Jokowi said, "We are united by more noble interests, namely maintaining unity, peace, cooperation, humanitarian interests, and advancing the country we love, Indonesia."

Jokowi is grateful for the opportunity for Christians to celebrate Christmas 2023 in peace and brotherhood. He wants the momentum of this Christmas to improve the welfare and progress of Indonesia.

President Jokowi gave a special Christmas gift to the two congregants who attended and were able to answer his questions on the sidelines of his speech.
