RAKERNAS BIMAS KRISTEN AND LPPD INDONESIA MAKE IMPORTANT DECISIONS FOR NATIONAL PESPARAWI 2025

BOGOR, December 20: The National Coordination Meeting (Rakernas), which has just been held by the Directorate General of Community Guidance (Bimas) of Christians and regional Pesparawi service institutions (LPPD) throughout Indonesia, has made a crucial decision ahead of the 2025 National Pesparawi in West Papua province. This forum is the first event since the appointment of West Papua as the host of the big event. In a speech read by the director of Christian Affairs, Proverbs Yowei, the Director General of Christian Community Guidance, Jeane Marie Tulung, stressed the importance of this Rakernas in establishing Pesparawi's vision and mission, which will be more focused on future vision and mission sessions to answer the challenges of the times. This activity was held in a coordination meeting of LPPN, LPPD, and musicians throughout Indonesia in Bogor. Proverbs Yowei said that the results of the National Meeting will continue the discussion of the design of the National Pesparawi Song Creation Contest program. Although experiencing technical obstacles, this coordination meeting aims to accelerate the implementation of the songwriting contest in accordance with the schedule set by LPPN. “This is a golden opportunity for us to meet and discuss with the musicians and partners of LPPN in developing national Pesparawi,” said Proverbs. He also added that the Pesparawi Song Contest will be discussed further with the material of the Songwriting Competition and the development of the National Pesparawi Award Model, referring to the Smart book published by LPPN. In addition, another discussion will focus on Nusantara church music from the point of view of education and the development of church music in Indonesia. Proverbs also affirms the importance of recognising music as intellectual property, including the work of songwriting, as an important part of the role of church musicians in the national discourse that has been going on for 40 years. The coordination meeting was attended by the entire board of LPPN, musicians, and LPPD representatives from all over Indonesia. The resulting decisions and discussions are expected to bring Pesparawi Nasional 2025 to a higher level, in line with the development and challenges of the times.
