LBH KYADAWUN GKI KLASIS BIAK SELATAN ACHIEVES NATIONAL ACCREDITATION B FROM THE MINISTRY OF LAW AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Biak, December 27, 2024 – The Legal Aid Institution (LBH) Kyadawun GKI Klasis Biak Selatan, established in 2015, has achieved remarkable success by obtaining Accreditation B from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of the Republic of Indonesia. This achievement was announced through the Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights No. M.HH-6.HN.04.03 of 2024 on December 27, 2024.

LBH Kyadawun was first established on the initiative of Klasis Biak Selatan in response to the high number of legal cases faced by underprivileged communities in Biak Numfor Regency. In 2022, LBH Kyadawun received Accreditation C, and after participating in the accreditation process from August to December 2024, it successfully upgraded its accreditation to B.

The Director of LBH Kyadawun expressed gratitude for this achievement and thanked all parties who have provided maximal support in delivering legal aid services to the community. "We are grateful to all parties who have assisted us over the past three years in providing free legal services to those seeking justice in Biak Numfor Regency and its surroundings," said the Director of LBH Kyadawun.

Furthermore, LBH Kyadawun also expressed gratitude to the Head of the Papua Legal Office and the team who have consistently collaborated in the legal assistance process for the people of Papua. "The good cooperation between us and the Papua Legal Office has played a crucial role in achieving this accomplishment," he added.

LBH Kyadawun's commitment to continue providing free legal assistance to underprivileged communities in Papua is stronger than ever. "We encourage the establishment of more legal aid institutions in Papua so that underprivileged people can access free legal assistance," he said. LBH Kyadawun also hopes that every district in Papua will issue a Regional Regulation (Perda) regulating free legal aid for the community.
