KAKANWIL KEMENAG PAPUA JOIN TALKSHOW TO BUILD ANTI-CORRUPTION BEHAVIOR

Jayapura, Thursday (March 28, 2024)  The Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kakanwil Kemenag) of Papua Province, Rev. Klemens Taran, S.Ag., together with the Official Administrator, participated in a talk show themed "Building Anti-Corruption Behavior Through Community Participation." The event was organized by the Directorate of Community Participation of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) online through the Zoom Meeting platform and YouTube. This activity took place in the VIP meeting room of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Papua Province. In the virtual talk show, the KPK deputy directorate of education and community compliance (Dikmas), Dr. H. Wawan Wardiana, Director General of Islamic Community Guidance Ministry of Religious Affairs, Prof. Dr. Phil. H. Kamaruddin Amin, MA., Dewan Masjid Indonesia, K.H. Drs. H. Imam Addaruqutni, M.A., and Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council, Dr. H. Amirah Tambunan, M.Ag. KPK deputy Dikmas, Mr. Wawan Wardiana, emphasized the importance of education and the role of the community in fighting corruption. He explained the KPK's strategy for combating corruption, including socialization and planting anti-corruption values at all levels of society, by conveying nine anti-corruption values such as honesty, independence, responsibility, and others. Professor Dr. Haji Kamarudin Amin, representing the Ministry of Religious Affairs, highlighted the important role of religion in encouraging anti-corruption behavior. He stressed that religions, including Islam, prohibit acts of corruption, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs has a vital role in conveying anti-corruption messages to the people. The Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council, Dr. H. Amir Syah Tambunan, emphasized the importance of religious education in making people aware of the dangers of corruption and the great role of mosques in delivering anti-corruption messages to the people. Dr. Haji Imam Addaruqutni from the Indonesian Mosque Council highlighted the role of mosques, clerics, and preachers in building an anti-corruption culture in the community and delivering anti-corruption messages to pilgrims. The presence of Kakanwil Kemenag Papua in this talk show shows a commitment to support efforts to eradicate corruption and build anti-corruption behavior through education and active community involvement, in line with the government's vision of creating clean governance and integrity.
