CHRISTIAN AFFAIRS DIVISION HOLDS TRAINING TO ENHANCE CHOIR COACHES' SKILLS IN NORTH SULAWESI

Manado (DBK)—On Thursday, May 31, 2024, the Christian Affairs Division of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kanwil Kemenag) North Sulawesi held an event called the Strengthening of Competence Enhancement for Choir Coaches at the Pesparawi Choir Development Institute (LPPD) of North Sulawesi Province.

Jeane Marie Tulung, the Director General of Christian Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, officially opened the event in Manado, marking the Ministry's commitment to improving the quality and quantity of choir coaches in the region.

The event was attended by the management of LPPD North Sulawesi Province, choir coaches from various cities and districts, and other Christian religious leaders.

In her speech, the Director General emphasized the importance of choir coaches in enriching the religious and cultural life of the community.

The Director General stated that enhancing the skills of choir coaches is crucial for developing the potential of church music arts in North Sulawesi.

"I hope that through this activity, the coaches will gain knowledge and skills that will positively impact the development of choirs in this region," the Director General expressed.

Regarding the implementation of the 14th Pesta Paduan Suara Gerejawi (PESPARAWI) in 2025 in Manokwari, West Papua, the Director General mentioned that they have assessed and urged the committee and related parties to prepare thoroughly.

"I request that the implementation of PESPARAWI learns from previous experiences. Proper preparation is key to avoiding issues and ensuring a smooth event," stated the Director General.

The Director General expressed hope that LPPD North Sulawesi would participate in the PESPARAWI in Manokwari in 2025.

"We need to work hard, coordinate well, and ensure everything runs smoothly. I know the Sulawesi Utara government strongly supports the development of Pesparawi in this area. May this event serve as a preparation platform for North Sulawesi towards PESPARAWI in Manokwari, West Papua. Thank you all for your dedication and hard work. Best of luck with your participation in the upcoming PESPARAWI," concluded the Director General.

The three-day training was also attended by the Head of Secondary Education at the Directorate General of Christian Community Guidance, Santi Kalangi, Head of Christian Affairs, Meidi Tasik, and Head of Christian Education, Anneke Purukan.
