THE MINISTRY OF RELIGION LAUNCHES A BIBLE VERSE SIGN LANGUAGE VIDEO TO HONOR DEAF PEOPLE.

We would like to thank the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Directorate General of Christian Guidance for their attention to deaf friends in Indonesia who received Bible verse sign language videos. At the Kemenag Kita Ekpsose event, which was packaged in a musical drama performance called "Ikhlas Beramal" about the performance achievements of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in 2023, Togar, a deaf disabled person, conveyed this message in a gesture.

Togar hopes the Sign Language Bible verse program will be continued and supplemented with new programs for deaf friends of all ages. He says,

"For children of this age, sign language Bible stories can be created to facilitate access and increase their faith early on."

Meanwhile, Johni Tilaar, Secretary of the Directorate General of Christian Guidance, stated that the creation of new Bible verse sign language videos was limited to certain themes in the Bible. Tilaar explained,

"There are four themes in the Bible that have been made into sign language videos, namely Christmas, Easter, fruit of the spirit, and the Lord's prayer.

He then added, "We have allocated a budget to continue this program in 2024."

Echelon I and II officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as about 300 invitees from various ministries and institutions, the rector of PTKN, the Regional Head of the Provincial Ministry of Religion, and the head of the religious training hall, attended the event, which was enlivened by artists Dewi Gita, Cing Abdel, and Mucle.
