In an effort to improve performance and service to Christians and the community, the Directorate General of Christian Community Guidance (Ditjen BImas Kristen) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) held a national working meeting of central and regional officials in 2024 with the theme “Smart Work Goes Faster." The event took place in Bogor from February 26 to 29, 2024, in a hybrid format. This working meeting is a continuation of the Joint Working Meeting of the Directorate General of Christian, Catholic, Hindu, Buddhist, and Confucian guidance and education centres, which had previously been opened by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, on February 21, 2024, at the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, Jakarta. In his speech, the Director General of Christian Community Guidance (Dirjen) invited his staff to work quickly and collaboratively. "I can't work alone; we are a super team; let's build to reach the target, work smart, and go faster," said the director general. The director general also conveyed five commitments of the Directorate General of Christian Guidance to the Minister of Religion that must be realised, among others: expanding the reach of religious moderation in the field of religious and religious education; accelerating the establishment of 10 Christian Religious Education Units; accelerating the transfer of the status of the State Christian Institute to the State Christian University; accelerating the transformation of Stak Mesias Sorong, West Papua, into a country; and mitigating or facilitating the establishment of houses of worship. The director general emphasised the importance of the active involvement of the head and Pemimas in dealing with problems in the region. "Tell it to us, and we will go down with the directors general of other religions," said the director general, while encouraging the construction of effective communication and coordination with relevant parties. In an effort to improve the quality of Christian religious universities, the Director General revealed that the Directorate General of Christian Guidance has proposed changes to the relevant regulations to facilitate the transformation of PTKKN into a university. The director general also praised the Christian Cyber University Programme, which was used as a pilot project for the Directorate General of Christian Guidance, and encouraged its further development. The director general closed his speech by inviting all participants to build a good reputation for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as emphasising the importance of self-belief in providing a positive impact for the people and society. The event was also attended by various officials from the central and regional levels, including the Secretary of the Directorate General of Christian Guidance, the Director of Christian Education, the Director of Christian Affairs, the leaders of seven state Christian religious universities, the Head/Head of the Christian Regional Office of the provincial Mora in Indonesia, as well as various echelon III and IV officials at the Directorate General of Central Christian Guidance.
