Jeane Marie Tulung, Director General of Christian Guidance, officially opens the 3rd International Interfaith Conference in Jakarta.

Jeane Marie Tulung, Director General of Christian Community Guidance of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, representing the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, officially opened the 3rd International Interfaith Conference—Peace Among the People. The event was organised by the communion of churches in Indonesia (PGI) and the United Evangelical Mission (UEM) in Jakarta.
A total of 100 participants from various countries, including Indonesia, the United States, Australia, the Philippines, Germany, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania, gathered to take part in this significant conference. Jeane Marie Tulung stated that the conference is a collaborative forum for sharing experiences, learning, and providing recommendations to strengthen justice and peace. "Especially in the context of the worsening climate crisis and the deterioration of the environment," adds Jeane Marie Tulung. The UEM, known as the International Federation with 39 members, includes 38 Protestant churches in Africa, Asia, and Germany, plus Bethel v. Bodelschwingh Foundations, and is steadfast in the pursuit of a holistic understanding of its mission. Along with the Director General of Tulung, Proverbs Yowei, director of Religious Affairs, provided support at the opening ceremony of the conference. (EVG)
