DIRECTOR GENERAL OF CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY GUIDANCE HIGHLIGHTS THE THEME OF THE EXTRAORDINARY CONFERENCE OF GMAHK DKI JAKARTA, "CHOSEN FOR THE MISSION"

"Chosen for the Mission,"  the Director General of Christian Community Guidance at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Jeane Marie Tulung, highlighted the theme of the 2024 Extraordinary Conference (KLB) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (GMAHK) DKI Jakarta Conference and surrounding areas. The conference will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Advent Meeting Hall, MT Haryono Kav 4-5, Jakarta. This call emphasises the Christian mission, based on the Gospel of Matthew 28:19–20, to make disciples of all nations. The Director General stated, "This is an interesting theme to consider, clearly showing GMAHK's focus on our call as Christians." Jeane said, "The challenges and opportunities before us require sincerity and courage to carry out the mission given to us by Jesus Christ." She also emphasised the importance of maintaining unity and oneness in the Spirit while upholding the truth of God's word. Jeane also represented the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the government in encouraging GMAHK to continue being a church that increasingly fosters peace. “Let us remember the message given by the Apostle Paul to the congregation in Corinth, 'Do not seek your own good, but the good of others' (1 Corinthians 10:24),” she concluded. On this occasion, Jeane urged everyone present to remain focused on the mission given by God. The spirit of devotion and the love of Christ must continue to burn with every step. Jeane quoted Jesus' words in the Gospel of John 13:34–35, which emphasise the importance of being followers of Christ: "Let us live as witnesses of Christ's love in the world." Several important GMAHK figures also attended the event. They included Pdt. Wendel Mandollang, Executive Secretary of the GMAHK Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), Pdt. Sugih Sitorus, Chairman of GMAHK in Indonesia Western Region Union, Pdt. Binsar Sagala, Executive Secretary of GMAHK in Indonesia Western Region Union, Mr. Panahatan Doloksaribu, Treasurer of GMAHK in Indonesia Western Region Union, Pdt. Poltak Sihombing, Chairman of GMAHK DKI Jakarta Conference & Surrounding Areas, and Pdt. J. Ronny Wenas, Executive Secretary of GMAHK DKI Jakarta Conference & Surrounding Areas, along with Mr. Budiman Siregar, Treasurer of GMAHK DKI Jakarta Conference & Surrounding Areas. Accompanied by the Head of the Secondary Education Sub-Directorate of the Directorate General of Christian Community Guidance, Santi Yanti Kalangi, and the Head of Christian Community Guidance of DKI Jakarta, Mangarerak Baringbing, as well as the Head of Christian Community Guidance of West Java Province, Harapan Nainggolan, the Director General officially opened the KLB conference by striking the gong.
