DEMOCRATIC POLITICIAN ACCUSES WHITE HOUSE SPOKESPERSON OF BEING A 'FAKE CHRISTIAN'
Rep. Dave Min criticizes the White House's stance on rescinding federal funding policy
Washington — Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, faced harsh criticism from Democratic Congressman Dave Min, who accused her of being a "Fake Christian" due to her statements regarding the rescission of a federal funding policy previously issued by President Donald Trump.
In a post on the social media platform X, Min expressed his disapproval after the White House withdrew a memo from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The memo had ordered the temporary suspension of most federal grants and assistance, but the decision was blocked by a federal court.
In her post, Leavitt clarified that the rescission applied only to the OMB memo, not to the broader federal funding policy, which remains in effect. "This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze. It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo to eliminate confusion caused by the court’s injunction," Leavitt wrote.
She further emphasized that President Trump’s executive orders regarding federal funding remain intact and will be fully implemented.
Min, however, responded with strong criticism, accusing Leavitt of misleading the public. He also took aim at her remarks during a White House press briefing, where she stated that $50 million in taxpayer funds were about to be spent on distributing condoms in Gaza—a move she described as a "ridiculous waste of taxpayer money."
Min mocked Leavitt’s statement, pointing out that she made the claim while wearing a large cross to display her religious devotion. "She’s trying to show how pious and moral she is, even as she comfortably tells a blatant lie to hundreds of millions of people," Min said.
In a further statement to Fox News Digital, Min expressed his disappointment with how the White House uses religion to justify its policies. "As a person of faith, I find it appalling that this administration exploits religion for their political agenda while ignoring real issues like children going hungry, veterans being deprived of their healthcare rights, and cuts to police and first responder funding," Min stated.
Meanwhile, Fox News Digital has reached out to Leavitt for comment, but no official response has been received at the time of publication.
