WORKING MEETING I KLASIS GKI PORT NUMBAY: REALLY APPLYING THE YEAR OF EMPOWERMENT 2024

The first working meeting of GKI Port Numbay—Jayapura City, which was held at the GKI Petra Nafri congregation from November 27–28, 2023, really applied the “Year of GKI Empowerment in Papua 2024." proved by the introduction of the medical community, the Legal Aid Institute "LBH,” and the GKI Port Numbay classical academic team. According to Rev. Dina Imbiri, S. Si. Theol, Secretary of the GKI Classical Commission of Love and Justice, there is a special joy in being given the opportunity by the GKI Port Numbay Classical Workers' Agency to convey the mission of the medical community and Legal Aid Institutions (GKI Port Numbay Classics) to the participants of the first working meeting. This answers the long struggle of the congregation residents and also the servants in Klasis GKI Port Numbay, who need a touch of health services and legal assistance, said Rev. Dina Imbiri, S. Si. Theol. Introduction to the Medical Community by Dr. Johanes Amsamsium, SpOTCK said that the community runs with the spirit motto: serving with the love of Christ, a simple word but has a very deep meaning. This motto is a challenge for us to serve based on the example of the typical character of Jesus Christ that we believe, and according to him, this community is also a container to collect the potential of medical resources that are so extraordinary. Many of the classes in GKI are specifically for spesilis, only many of them me, and we should also have our own hospital, and that's our dream together. The same thing is also conveyed by Drg. Mega Kusumawati, Assembly of GKI Alfa Omega Furia Kotaraja Church. It's time we empower the potential of human resources that are so abundant in this class.

The second introduction was from lawyer Yoksan Balan, SH-Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Klasis GKI Port Numbay, who said that the struggle over legal issues in this class is very large, as evidenced by so many cases related to the law that have occurred, but the residents of the church have difficulty getting legal defence because of financial difficulties experienced presumably with the existence of this institution.

Third, exposure from Dr. Ir, Johni Jonathan Numberi, M.Eng, IPM-GKI Church Council Pniel Kotaraja, says that currently the struggle of GKI Klasis academics is how to utilise the human resources owned by this Klasis to help the people of the church, especially the unemployment rate or those who do not have a job very much. The exposure to these three things brought a very positive response from all participants in the working meeting at Klasis GKI Port Numbay, because it became the answer to their struggle.
