KAKANWIL KEMENAG PAPUA OPENS HOLIDAY BIBLE SCHOOL AT GKI MARANATHA POLIMAK CHURCH I-III

Jayapura, Thursday (March 27, 2024)  The Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kakanwil Kemenag) of Papua Province, Rev. Klemens Taran, S.Ag., also attended and officially opened the holiday Bible School (SAL), which took place in Kalvari Rayon, GKI Maranatha Polimak I-III congregation. Sal activities are Christian religious education programs held during the holidays, aiming to provide Christian religious instruction to children, adolescents, or adults in a relaxed and structured atmosphere. In the opening of SAL's activities, Kakanwil Taran emphasized the importance of understanding the teachings of the Bible, the will of the Lord Jesus, religious values, and commands and prohibitions from God. "Children must learn to understand the teachings of the Bible, the will of the Lord Jesus, the content of the heart, and the commands and prohibitions of the Lord Jesus," said Kakanwil. Before starting the activity, Kakanwil, together with Sunday school caregivers and all Sal participants, prayed together for the success of this activity. With prayer led by Kakanwil himself, it is expected that SAL's activities can run smoothly until completion. The vice principal of the holiday Bible School, Berlin Mampokem, explained that the SAL activity in Kalvari Rayon of GKI Maranatha Polimak I-III Church provides an opportunity for children to learn to be an instrument of God's truth and to know the Lord Jesus more deeply. This SAL activity was also carried out in 10 other Rayons in the service area of the GKI Maranatha Polimak I-III Church. Through this activity, it is hoped that the younger generation can grow in faith and strong spiritual values and be a blessing to the surrounding environment.
