INAUGURATION OF NEW LEADERSHIP AT OTTOW GEISSLER PAPUA UNIVERSITY FOR THE 2023-2027 PERIOD

Jayapura, September 11, 2024 – The Ottouw Geissler Foundation in Papua has made another significant milestone by holding the inauguration of the Rector and Vice Rectors of Ottouw Geissler University Papua (UOGP) for the 2023-2027 period. The ceremony, which took place at the Multipurpose Hall of UOGP, located in the Christian Education Complex in Kotaraja Dalam, Jayapura City, was attended by key figures and witnessed by the academic community and invited guests.

The Chairman of the Ottouw Geissler Foundation, Rev. Absalom Takayetouw, S.Th., M.Th., officially inaugurated Dr. Philipus Ramandey, S.E., M.Si., Akt., CA as the new Rector of Ottouw Geissler University Papua, replacing Dr. Jerry Sawai, M.Si., who has completed his term. The inauguration also included the appointment of the Vice Rectors, namely Dr. Meiske M. Sihombing, S.E., M.E. as Vice Rector I, Ester Saranga, S.E., M.Si. as Vice Rector II, and Triana M. Kubelaborbis, S.Kel., M.Si. as Vice Rector III.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by various representatives, including the Workers' Board of the GKI Synod in Papua, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, representatives from PT Freeport Indonesia in Jayapura, and leaders from other private universities in Jayapura. In addition, faculty leaders from UOGP, including the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Science and Technology, and the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry & Marine Sciences, were present. The alumni representative, Bastian Wamafma, S.E., also attended the event alongside UOGP lecturers and staff.

In his remarks, Rev. Absalom Takayetouw expressed his hope that this new leadership would bring positive changes and further advance Ottouw Geissler University Papua. With a strong vision and solid leadership team, UOGP is expected to continue increasing its contribution to education in Papua and producing graduates who are competent, have integrity, and are highly competitive.

This inauguration marks an important milestone for UOGP, reaffirming its commitment to providing high-quality and sustainable education services in Papua.
