GKI BALIEM YALIMO LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE TO ENHANCE CHURCH SERVICES

Klasis GKI Baliem Yalimo officially launched its new website on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The website, accessible at www.klasisbaliemyalimo.org, aims to strengthen communication and ministry services to congregations across Papua and beyond.
The launching event took place at the GKI Baliem Yalimo Classis Office and was attended by several important figures, including representatives of the Synod Executive Board of GKI in Tanah Papua Region X, Rev. Judas Meage, S.Th, the Head of the Baliem Yalimo Classis, Rev. Eduard H. Su, S.Th, as well as the classis board, commission members, ministry divisions, and local church leaders.
The website is designed to serve as a digital information hub for all activities under the GKI Baliem Yalimo Classis. According to the Classis Head, Rev. Eduard H. Su, the website will help distribute important updates and information to 28 congregations and 1 preparatory congregation under its care. He emphasized that technology must be utilized to support ministry work more efficiently and accessibly.
“Through this website, all church members—whether in Papua or in other regions—can stay informed about our activities, services, and developments. This is a reflection of our transparency and commitment to building a church that responds to the times,” said Rev. Eduard.
Deputy Classis Head, Elder Rabindra Patasik, who also serves as coordinator of the Investigation Commission, explained that the website is expected to become an information bridge between congregations and the classis leadership. In his report, he highlighted the importance of a digital data space to ensure more organized and smooth ministry operations.
Meanwhile, Rev. Judas Meage from the GKI Region X Executive Board expressed his support via a virtual message. He stated that digitalization plays a vital role in the church's ministry development today. “In this digital era, the church must wisely use technology, including in managing ministry information and nurturing congregational life,” he said.
He also expressed hope that everyone involved would make the best use of the website and treat it as a tool to strengthen ministry efforts. He believes that if used wisely, digital technologies like this website can have a significant positive impact on the church.
The launching event concluded with a joint prayer and the official activation of the website by representatives of the Classis Executive Board. This moment marked the beginning of a new chapter of church service that is more open, transparent, and connected to the digital world.
With the launch of klasisbaliemyalimo.org, GKI Baliem Yalimo Classis now steps into the digital ministry era—one that is expected to bring great benefits to both the church members and the wider community.
