Looking forward to the 2024 year of ministry: learning from Jesus' example

Fakfak, November 15, 2023 The youth of the evangelical Christian Church (GKI) Fakfak and GKI Kokas took a meaningful step by organising a retreat for three days starting from November 17–19, 2023, together in preparation for the 2024 servant year. This retreat is expected to be a moment of introspection, drawing closer to God, and contemplating the living example of Jesus Christ. Pam Klasis Retreat GKI Fakfak and GKI Kokas is not just a "retreat," but also an opportunity to reflect, learn, and share in an atmosphere of togetherness. This activity is a form of concern for the spirituality of young people in facing the challenges of an evolving era. The materials presented in the room aim to deepen religious teachings and strengthen the basis of faith. In addition, this retreat also involves social devotional activities as a tangible manifestation of love and service to others, following in the footsteps of the love of Jesus, who became the main example. With the theme "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young," the retreat invites participants to make themselves independent, creative, and role models in the community. The message is reflected in the passion to be part of a young generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also full of moral and spiritual values. Hero Richard Samori SE, the head of the GKI Fakfak classical Youth Affairs Section, expressed his hope that the retreat that will last for three days will not only be a regular event but also the beginning of a real transformation in personal life and service for each participant member of PAM and also the Pam Service Agency in each of the churches in the GKI Fakfak classical service area and also the GKI Kokas classical service area. With a passionate spirit, the youth of GKI Fakfak and GKI Kokas are committed to bringing positive values and Christian love into their daily lives. This retreat is the first step towards the Year of Service 2024, which is filled with care, service, and blessings for all members of the congregation.
