Working Meeting II of PAM GKI Klasis Yapen Selatan: Looking Forward to the Year of Empowerment 2024

South Yapen, Saturday, November 11, 2023—On Saturday, November 11, 2023, the GKI Klasis South Yapen Pam element Service Agency held its 2nd working meeting (Raker) at the 46th Jemat of the region. This meeting was attended by various elements of pam spread across 46 Jemat and also attended by representatives from various classes, including representatives of the father.

This meeting aims to invite the year of empowerment proclaimed by the Synod. In an atmosphere full of enthusiasm, young men and women are welcome to contribute to determining activities that will have a positive impact on youth in the South Yapen Klasis area and surrounding areas.

One of the main focuses of this meeting is the evaluation of Pam Klasis GKI South Yapen work activities that have not been carried out. Some activities, such as joint worship, remain routine, and MPO activities in each Jemat are still in the planning stage. In order to draw up a working series for 2024, several important points have been proposed:

Implementing MPO and LDK-LKPG as work priorities in the next year

English language development through reading houses and free courses for young people in Kotawi

Learning and development of traditional music and learning notes of praise for young members in the environment outside Kotawi and mountainous environments, as well as pinning confessions of faith to GKI, Imne GKI, and Mars

Pioneering the agricultural sector throughout the region to reduce the impact of unemployment, focusing on cabbage farming, and the fisheries sector as a top priority

Worship meeting work for the church that is building as an important point for the body of servants Pam

The head of the Pam section expressed his hope that the proposed activity plan can have a positive impact on GKI youth in the South Yapen Klasis area and its surroundings. Concrete steps such as managing land and sea for the sustainability of independent living and business are expected to optimise the potential that has been given by God.

All parties hope that this work plan will build a spirit of cooperation and empowerment among GKI youth, not only in Klasis Yapen Selatan but also throughout the church area. Hopefully, the implementation of the work plan in the coming year can bring blessings and a positive impact on the development of the church community.
