"TRUE FREEDOM" WEBINAR: A CALL TO COMBAT CONTEMPORARY SLAVERY

The Clever initiative and the World Council of Churches (WCC) will hold a webinar on the eradication of modern slavery on January 18th. The event introduced "True Freedom," a newly released Lenten resource that aims to support churches, groups, and individuals in the fight against contemporary slavery.
The six-week Lent course will combine practical knowledge of modern slavery with theology. It includes Bible readings, reflections, facts, case studies, and actionable points to increase understanding and encourage action against slavery.
The webinar will be led by Bishop Alastair Redfern of The Clewer Initiative and Kenneth Mtata, WCC program director for Public Witness and Diakonia. They will work together to shed light on the important issues of contemporary slavery and show how true freedom can be an effective tool for raising public awareness and encouraging action.
This webinar gives Christians an amazing opportunity to learn how to use true freedom in a variety of situations, from church to personal endeavors. According to Mtata, "we invite you to join us to gain insight from real-life testimonials and learn how these resources can help you."
