UNITY DRIVEN BY CHRISTIAN PRAYER AND SERVICE" TO UNITE THE CHURCHES

With the theme "You will love the Lord your God... and thy neighbor as thyself" (Luke 10:27),

The week of prayer for Christian unity will unite churches around the world. It will be held on January 18–25, 2024, in the northern hemisphere and May 21–28, 2024, in the southern hemisphere.

The week of prayer for Christian unity is an international Christian ecumenical celebration held annually in the Northern Hemisphere and around Pentecost in the Southern Hemisphere. Held on January 18–25. Every year, ecumenical partners from different regions are asked to provide materials.

The local Chemin Neuf (CCN) community assisted the Burkina Faso ecumenical team in creating the materials for the Christian Unity 2024 week of prayer.

The theme chosen was the verse Luke 10:27, "You shall love the Lord your God... and your neighbor as yourself." In Burkina Faso, brothers and sisters of the Catholic Archdiocese of Ouagadougou, Protestant churches, ecumenical bodies, and the CCN work well together in making prayers and devotions.

They also experience their work together as a real way to achieve ecumenical conversion.

Ecumenical opening prayer services, biblical reflections, and prayers for eight days are part of this resource.
