Millions of people can now use the Bible app to get material from the week of prayer for Christian Unity, which is the largest prayer meeting in the world.

This online material is available in different languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Arabic. YouVersion, created in collaboration with the World Council of Churches (WCC), and the Bible App.

"You shall love the Lord your God...and your neighbor as yourself.This is the theme of 2024.

Facilitated by the Chemin Neuf community, members of various churches in Burkina Faso prepared resources for this week, remembering the importance of love to achieve peace and reconciliation.

According to Rev. Dr. Mikie Roberts, WCC program executive for the spiritual life, "this year's theme reminds us that our unremitting prayers for Christian unity must be driven by these two aspects: love of God and love of neighbor."

According to him, "being neighbors is about having a deep sense of compassion and love for each other. It is as important as affirming our love for God. The two are inseparable." We are strengthened when the balance is maintained by praying and working together for the "visible unity of Christians."

Since 1968, the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity of the Roman Catholic Church and the World Council of Churches have jointly published materials for the week of prayer for Christian unity. In the northern hemisphere, the week of prayer for Christian unity is usually celebrated from January 18–25.

For 2024, the material can be accessed in Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and English.
