HISTORIC MOVE IN NABIRE DEDICATION OF MOI LANGUAGE TO BIBLE BOOSTS INDIGENOUS FAITH
On Thursday, January 4, 2024, in Dobo to, Nabire regency, Central Papua province, the inauguration of the Bible in the main language was held. This is a historical event in Nabire District.
This important event was attended by the head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Papua province. and Yoses Cipuk Hariyani, S.Th., policy analyst and young expert on Christian Religious Affairs
The hard work of missionaries from YMMP, Yajasi, and Yayasan Salt Indonesia led to this dedication.
The translation of the Bible into the Moi language was a major step towards meeting the spiritual needs of the local people, especially the Moi tribe, which lived in the interior of Nabire.
It is hoped that this Moi Bible will be a useful tool for dedicated gospel ministers and ministers of God in the region.
It is considered important to strengthen the faith and religious understanding of the Moi people by presenting the Scriptures in regional languages.
It also marks progress in religious inclusion and accessibility in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas such as Nabire.
In addition, this inauguration event shows the commitment and cooperation shown by various parties to support the diversity and harmony of religious life in Indonesia.
