PASSION 2024: LOUIE GIGLIO CHALLENGES THE MESSAGE OF MODERN CULTURE WITH GOSPEL TRUTHS

Louie Giglio addressed modern society's beliefs about common rights, self-determination, and personal entitlement and compared them to the transformative message of the gospel in a speech at Passion 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia, attended by thousands of youth.
The 65-year-old leader of The Passion City Church in Atlanta said, "My message tonight begins with a presupposition."
I believe that's where we start because of the conversations we have in culture. Some of the main needs in the world we live in today are the following: Number one, I have rights. Number two, I have to decide. Number three: I know myself best. Number four: I deserve more. Number five: I deserve to be happy. However, the gospel deals with our presuppositions. The gospel completely defeats all the presuppositions we mentioned earlier. We face many problems if we do not have Christ, and this is a very big problem. Without Christ, we are far from God.”
Giglio saw the essence of the gospel message: because of his mercy and love, God revived sinners with Christ, even after they had died in sin. He says that this grace can change everything, including beliefs about life.
The pastor asks the audience to realize that in Christ, they do not have the right or the best judgment for themselves; instead, they have been given grace even though they deserve wrath.
Will you be able to turn him into a pure, pure, pure God? Religion tells you that you can, if you put in the effort and work hard. However, the deceased person does not have any power. God comes into the equation because you don't just die, even though it's a problem. As Paul wrote, You became the object of God's wrath because you died in your sins and transgressions.
"What we want you to know in 2024 is that the game plan for you going forward is not to try to do your best to reach a sacred God, because you can't," Giglio continued. "What we want you to know in 2024 is that the game plan for you going forward is not trying to do your best to reach a sacred God. It is not your responsibility to have difficulty moving to where God is. No, but God keeps us alive when we die. How? By using his son, Jesus Christ, to overcome differences.”
In 1995, Gillo and his wife, Shelley, founded The Passion Movement with the goal of "calling students and leaders from college campuses across the country and cities around the world to live for what matters most—the name and glory of Jesus." This annual event is aimed at young adults in the age range of 18 to 25 years.
In addition, in his messages, Giglio talks about guilt, shame, and anxiety about the future, which is a struggle that children are increasingly experiencing. He gives an explanation of how the Cross of Christ offers a perspective that can mitigate this problem. He emphasized that the cross shows believers a new identity and purpose and encourages them to believe in God's plan and timing.
"Your Heavenly Father does not want you to feel any pressure at this time about your life," he stressed. "And if you feel pressure, it's not because of your Heavenly Father. Your Heavenly Father wants you to know the magnitude of the cross and to understand at this moment that God controls everything." And you must follow what God commands you to do today.
Giglio ended by inviting thousands of people who participated in the Passion to embrace the cross, not only as a sign of forgiveness but also as a sign of commitment to a Christ-centered life. He emphasized that man's loving relationship with the world is crucified, and the focus of believers' lives in Christ turns from themselves to God.
"The Cross has freed me from the allure of this world, and it has changed me so radically that this world does not want to have anything to do with me anymore."
I don't want it, and they don't want me. I just want Jesus, and I want to preach his word. I want to stay confident and continue my race. I want to finish this course well. I want to convey this to those who really want to follow Jesus. I want to proclaim the verse, "Religion is finished, and Grace has come." And I want to ask you to be someone who corresponds to what has been made for you in Jesus Christ. I want to ask you to reject this world and say "yes." "To Jesus, I want to beg you to join me and commit to this day."
"I will never boast in anything on Earth except the Cross of Jesus Christ." The Passion 2024 conference was held at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium from January 3 to 5, with speakers such as Giglio, "Duck Dynasty" star and author Sadie Robertson Huff, as well as pastors Jonathan Pokluda and Levi Lusko. KB, Brandon Lake, Kari Jobe, and Phil Wickham were also in attendance. "Passion is more than just music.
More than just an event," Giglio said on Twitter as he welcomed Passion 2024. The spirit generation is fighting for its name. I thank God for these days.
He wrote, "Join me in praying for the students returning to their cities, campuses, and countries today, that they may live for God and his glory."
